Spazio Ambiente was founded in 1989 in Pistoia by a group of young professionals with multidisciplinary expertise in architecture, engineering, and applied sciences. From the beginning, the company invested in advanced information technology, developing an approach focused on innovation, precision, and quality.
Over time, Spazio Ambiente has oriented its core business towards the railway sector, collaborating with industrial companies such as AnsaldoBreda, Breda Menarini and Hitachi Rail.
In the 1990s, the company began to specialize in managing the technical secretariats and warehouses of train assistance and maintenance depots located in Italy and abroad.
The company has evolved while maintaining a flexible structure, capable of operating in complex and international contexts, offering operational and management support thanks to its consolidated, highly specialized know-how.
Since 2015, the company has employed a team of 11 people at the Trenitalia-Frecciarossa depot in Naples-Gianturco with specific IT and technical skills to enter work orders and collect RAM data relating to the assistance and maintenance of high-speed trains, divided into work groups for the ETR 1000, ETR 500, and ETR 700 fleets.
Since 2023, the company has been awarded a contract for its regional train fleet, providing a team of specialized personnel to support maintenance engineering activities for Hitachi Rail. The service is performed at various depots across the country, ensuring qualified and continuous operational support.

We make a concrete contribution to improving train reliability and increasing the efficiency of maintenance processes.
Management of work orders, technical documentation, and information flows between the client, manufacturer, and maintenance operators.
RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) data are fundamental engineering parameters used to evaluate the long-term performance of systems, subsystems, and components. RAM measurement procedures and analysis are crucial to the efficiency and reliability of rolling stock.
Management and data entry related to maintenance activities, with advanced technical and IT support to ensure proper traceability of interventions.
Support for relevant personnel through the production of periodic reports and participation in technical discussions between clients and suppliers.
Periodic visual inspections and maintenance verifications, aimed at ensuring product compliance with project and contractual requirements.
Monitoring the correct management and implementation of technical documentation relating to materials supplied and used on trains and systems.
Performing periodic checks on the conformity and non-conformity of materials used.
Receiving, inventorying, storing, and sorting materials, ensuring operational continuity, reducing downtime, and optimizing inventory.
The development of the business is oriented towards the consolidation and expansion of services in the railway sector, with particular attention to innovation and sustainability.
ThE main growth directions include the expansion of activities related to R.A.M. data management, which will continue to be centralized in Italy, with the aim of strengthening skills and operational continuity. At the same time, an evolution of activities on train fleets is planned, with the progressive implementation of data management and the strengthening of technical support services.
An important role will also be played by the new hybrid trains, which represent a more sustainable solution for rail transport and contribute to reducing environmental impact. This includes the expansion of operational fleets and the introduction of new trains on strategic routes.
Future growth will also include the strengthening of quality control activities, with the extension of services to new orders and operational contexts, and the development of increasingly specialized skills to support customer needs.
